Purpose:

The Data Integrations IT Manager position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing various applications and technologies that support Athene’s business operations workflow platform by leading a team of technology professionals through the Agile delivery process. This position is located in our West Des Moines, Iowa office.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of technology professionals responsible for the stability, reliability and maturity of Athene’s operational processing workflow platform and supporting technologies.

  • Monitor platform health and performance.

  • Partner with Project Managers to plan and align project deliverables and milestones into epics, sprints and stories.

  • Partner with the Product Owner to identify delivery priorities, dependencies and risks.

  • Restore services and functionality per service level agreements and service level objectives.

  • Work with the Scrum Master and Scrum teams to ensure consistent velocity in planning, facilitating and management of Agile sprints, including various sprint ceremonies and activities (e.g., backlog grooming, sprint planning, story refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, sprint demos, etc.).

  • Drive team to results through Athene’s project delivery and Agile methodologies.

  • Ensure minimal system downtime.

  • Ensure that the Scrum Teams deliver technology-enabled business capabilities that will enhance Athene’s operational processing workflow platform and supporting technologies.

  • Implement technical and process improvements in order to enhance overall platform stability, reliability, maintainability and performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience performing application development and support activities.

  • 2+ years of experience formally or informally leading other individuals.

  • 2+ years working in an Agile / Scrum-based environment.

  • Proficiency with Python or similar interpreted languages.

  • Proficiency with RESTful APIs.

  • Proficiency with SQL and relational databases.

  • Proficiency with source code management tools and processes.

  • Understanding of Containerization and Cloud enablement

  • Experience developing, deploying and managing Amazon Web Services-based (or a similar cloud service) solutions preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
