GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We’re hiring a Graphic Designer that knows how to visually communicate ideas that inspire, inform or engage our financial professional audience. You will develop the overall layout and production design for print and digital advertisements and help re-imagine the brand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Able to design a wide range of media including, but not limited to: logos, national ads, brochures, digital and direct mail campaigns, and digital media such as infographics, interactive content and digital placements.
Establish creative direction for the company as well as brand guidelines
Completes projects by coordinating with approved outside vendors and printers.
Meets with internal partners to discuss the business objectives, requirements and business needs of the project. Then, develops a design concept to suit their purpose with the ability to pitch concepts to multiple stakeholders.
Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications
Ensure that all artwork and files are accurate, adhere to brand standards, meet and exceed timeline and deliverable requirements, and follow all specifications.
Manage technical/file trouble-shooting and design issues.
Loads HTML emails, memos and letters
Keeps abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops and reviewing professional publications.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:
None required for this position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of digital artwork/media and print production.
Knowledge of form design and producing various types of print and digital media.
Understanding of the creative and production processes
Balance of excellent typography skills, an understanding of photography, layout, illustration, and web/print process
Solid understanding of image formats (EPS, TIF, GIF, JPEG, PNG, PDF)
Technical skills in print, digital optimization for web and social media, retouching, 4c printing, digital file preparation, 4-color print and production processes, and pre-press delivery formats
Understanding of graphic compression
Adobe applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash) – and a proven ability to create usable templates for print and web.
Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – and a proven ability to create usable templates
Software Skill Levels:
Digital workflow automation experience
Understanding of asset management systems
Solid experience following brand standards
Keen eye for detail and correcting copy/design errors missed in projects
Able to research new technology and new channels
Able to partner and build relationships internally and externally
Be able to manage time appropriately and meet aggressive deadlines
Experience with digital content such as websites, CMS, social media, online advertising and email campaigns along with basic knowledge of HTML
Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Must stay up to date with new production techniques and trends through research and education.
