Shive-Hattery's West Des Moines office has an immediate opening for an entry level Landscape Architect with a bachelors degree in landscape architecture.

Experience required:

• A general understanding of the field of landscape architecture and the ability to communicate and collaborate across discipline boundaries to support the delivery of solutions which meet client expectations is essential in order to successfully meet the requirements of this position
• The priorities of this position are to: Contribute to the production of high-quality exhibits, renderings and landscape construction drawings
• Assist senior staff and project management in the development of project deliverables
• AutoCAD 3D/LandFx is a requirement
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, SketchUp, ArcGIS, and Google Earth is highly recommended
• Candidate shall have a general understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Highly self motivated and displays the ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Exhibits accuracy, attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Requirements

• Works under close supervision; receives specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected.
• Performs beginner level landscape architectural assignments and works from designs of others, compiles data, performs design computations, makes quantity takeoffs, prepares landscape architectural construction plans and details, consults manufacturers, evaluates materials, and observes landscape architectural features or structures in the field.
• Supervisor screens assignments for quality control, selects techniques and procedures to be applied. Must be computer literate and exhibit strong communication abilities for presenting concepts and coordinating work.
• Creates plant palettes and landscape design recommendations
• Supports project objectives such as laying out master plans and other design elements to meet appropriate project requirements
• Assists in the design or redesign of parks, streets, trails, education, commercial or healthcare/institutional sites
• Creates and updates 3D Renderings for exhibits as part of the design process
