Robert Half has partnered with an esteemed organization to find a Payroll Clerk to join their West Des Moines team. The Payroll Specialist will primarily be responsible for ensuring the accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, providing timely and accurate financial information, and participating in data entry and payroll processing activities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily payroll department operations.

• Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.

• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.

• Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.

• Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.

• Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll.

• Maintain and document all payroll records.

• Conduct routine audits of payroll procedures and systems to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar field is preferred but not necessary.

• Proven experience as a payroll specialist or in a similar role.

• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.

• Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and good knowledge of relevant software and databases.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

• Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality, great organizational skills and accuracy.

• Ability to work under deadlines and multitask.
