Description

We are in the process of recruiting a Sr. Accountant in West Des Moines. This role is a part of the financial industry and involves the use of various accounting and analytical skills. The position offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the processing of customer credit applications to ensure accuracy and efficiency

• Maintain and update customer credit records regularly for easy access and use

• Handle customer credit inquiries, providing clear and concise answers and solutions

• Monitor customer credit accounts, identifying any irregularities or issues

• Take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments, adhering to the company's guidelines and procedures

• Maintain and manage the General Ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date

• Conduct Month End Closes, ensuring all financial data is accounted for and properly recorded

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data entry, analysis, and financial reporting

• Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliation, identifying and resolving any discrepancies

• Prepare Journal Entries, ensuring they accurately reflect the company's financial transactions

• Conduct Account Reconciliation, comparing account balances against other records to ensure accuracy.

Requirements • Must hold a relevant degree in accounting, finance or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant or similar role is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Must have the ability to prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliation.

• Experience with general ledger functions is required.

• Must have strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation.

• Previous experience with month-end close processes is necessary.

• Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

• Knowledge of current financial regulations and accounting standards.

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.

• Willingness to continuously improve and streamline the accounting process.
