AssuredPartners Senior Claims Representative in West Des Moines, Iowa

Summary Administers information from clients by phone, email and fax in order to process insurance claims; work with clients, adjusters, and Producers on claims status, problems, and questions. Additional responsibility for managing claims, collaborating with insureds and assisting with problem solving in conjunction with Account Executives and Producers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reports claims for clients. Reviews claim forms and related documents for completeness. Calls or writes insured or other involved persons for missing information and posts or attaches information to claim file. Works directly with both insureds and claimants to identify new claims. Follows up on claims to secure Adjuster and claim number. Updates claim reporting information for companies. Follows up on claim acknowledgements and adjuster assignments for large claims as appropriate.

Serves as contact for Adjuster and Insured for claims related issues.

Resolves coverage questions or refers to Claims Consultant, Director of Claims, Account Executives or Account Managers as appropriate.

Secures loss runs from carriers as requested. Prepares claims information for presentations as requested.

Resolves customer claim issues in coordination with Account Executives and Producers in order to reduce E&O exposure.

Provides claims packets to customers and prospects as requested.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in the healthcare field preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certifications or licenses

Valid Adjuster license where required; Property and Casualty Agent license preferred.
