At DMU you will make a meaningful contribution to the dynamic future of Medicine and Health Sciences. Under the direction of the Director of Simulation, the Simulation Technician will provide comprehensive setup and implementation support, including planning, coordinating, and executing of simulation activities and services. Using industry standards and established best practices, this individual will be responsible for supply inventory and stocking, set-up and clean-up of simulation spaces for safe and optimal learning environments, set-up, maintenance, and inventory of equipment, assisting with the implementation of events as directed including the operating of audiovisual equipment, computer software, and manikins, check-in, participant instructions, proctoring, functioning as a Standardized Patient or simulated healthcare provider in simulations, and supporting Basic Life Support instruction.
What you’ll do:
Assist with implementation of programs/events and education support as directed which may include operation of simulator(s); check-in/registration, direct flow of participants/learners; function as the standardized patient, family member, or other scenario participant as directed; support Basic Life Support instruction.
Provide pre-briefing and/or orientation, technical assistance, support and training to learning environment for learners, faculty, and other staff.
Prepare, update, and enter documents for department events on current software.
Assist with the planning, coordinating, and executing all simulation activities and services in alignment with the organization mission and strategic plan.
Supply inventory and stocking; Ensure clean, safe, and optimal teaching and learning environment including set-up and clean-up of examination rooms, waiting rooms, simulation, rooms, and classrooms.
What we are looking for:
Associate’s degree in healthcare-related field required. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare-related field or 4 years equivalent experience preferred.
One year of related clinical care experience and/or certification as a Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or minimum of one year experience as a technician in a hospital setting (e.g., OR Tech, ED Tech, Vet Tech) required.
Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology.
CHSOS certified preferred.
