Kanaan Communications, LLC Supervisor Warehouse in West Des Moines, Iowa

Overview and Essential Functions

Prince Telecom, a national leader in the telecommunications field, is hiring for a Supervisor Warehouse for our West Des Moines location. This position will be responsible for ensuring the safety and directing the overall activities of the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Conduct team meetings and safety trainings to ensure that preventive measures are enforced and adhered to

Direct the day-to-day activities of the warehouse; such responsibilities include shipping, receiving, maintenance, inventory control, etc. Supervise a small team of warehouse technicians, coaching those technicians on proper and safe warehouse operations. Responsible for running organized and clean facilities. Responsible for accuracy of monthly material audit and any inventory checks as deemed fit by the client.

Receiving and checking incoming goods from deliveries. Unloading all materials from a flat bed and closed bed tractor trailers while demonstrating safe operation of a forklift. Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and communicating all necessary repairs to Operations Manager. Ensure that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform their distribution functions. Coordinate with other departments to facilitate efficient warehouse operations. Resolve discrepancies with shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports. Other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS 2 - 5 years of previous supervisory experience required (preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment) Excellent interpersonal, team building, delegating and follow-up skills Ability to work with and maintain effective working relationships with other departments within the company Effective oral and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Possess a valid driver’s license (class "C" minimum)

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to analyze and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

WORKING CONDITIONS Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines. Working regular hours and extended hours, especially during peak seasons. Work performed in a warehouse setting or in the field on job sites where there are weather conditions, noise, and the conditions of residence.
