Pipeline Planner


The Bayer Corporation is a leader in innovation and believes in the pursuit of Science for a Better Life. The Breeding Trait and Pipeline Delivery (TPD) function within the Bayer Crop Science division is looking for a Supply Chain Professional to drive production and logistics planning to achieve world class on time and in full customer service results.

This position is responsible for coordinating and executing production planning and crop cycle logistical activities for successful delivery of products on time and in full across a network of agricultural and genomic testing sites responsible for growing, harvesting, processing, packaging and testing new product concepts as part of a multi-year, multi-crop, multi-regional R&D portfolio.

The successful candidate must demonstrate consistent application of supply and demand planning concepts, enterprise resource management, control tower timeline and product flow monitoring, and possess the capability to learn agronomic, genotyping, and research practices for the pipelines they manage.


This role has global responsibilities given the coordination of work across regions. This role may perform the position duties for any given set of pipeline phases, for any given set of crops, serving any given regional breeding R&D project.


The primary responsibilities of this role, Pipeline Planner, are to:

The ideal candidate would work out of our Chesterfield Mo, Creve Coeur Mo, Ankeny IA, Huxley lA, Stonington, IL, Scott, MS or Williamsburg IA locations, however we will consider applicants that can work out of any Bayer Crop Science Research and Development site or Bayer Crop Science Seed Production site in the United States.

  • Develop detailed plans and schedules which should enable trait and pipeline delivery teams as well as regional seed production and test teams to successfully meet pipeline targets and cycle times for each crop, according to the phases of the pipeline they are accountable to manage;

  • Be responsible to identify opportunities to improve pipeline health and operational efficiencies;

  • Develop alternative solutions for the analysis of supply shortfalls, impacting internal and/or external customer requirements and ensure root cause identification, corrective action determination and implementation;

  • Handle complex planning problems independently, utilize financial, operational and business judgment and adapt to ambiguous conditions;

  • Be responsible for and maintain planning parameters and master data internal to crop science analytical tools and software systems;

  • Utilize delegation to expand scope of influence.
